Since our founding, we at Ambright in Munich have been developing and producing customized lighting solutions for architecture and industry. Our origins lie in an ambitious project: the development of a luminaire for series integration into a computer tomograph manufactured by the technology group Siemens. This initial success, made possible by close cooperation with the Technical University of Munich and the research expertise of our founder Dr. Florian Ilchmann—a doctor of electrical engineering specializing in medical electronics—laid the foundation for our company.

The start-up grew into a thriving company with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and lighting experts. Our innovative approach quickly made Ambright a sought-after partner in the healthcare, industrial, and retail sectors.

A particular milestone in 2015 was the patenting of our own printed-light technology, which enables light to be printed – opening up completely new interdisciplinary possibilities.

This innovative strength has received numerous awards, including the German Innovation Award 2022, the Stylepark Selected Award 2023, and the iF Design Award 2024 Gold.

With our patented printed-light technology, we have fundamentally changed the way light is designed. Instead of being limited to rigid circuit boards, our LEDs can be freely and precisely positioned on specially selected surfaces and connected electronically – mechanically and with high precision. We use this technology in particular for the lighting industry. With printed light, we provide planners, designers, and lighting professionals with a tool that enables high-quality custom-made products starting from a quantity of one – developed and manufactured directly by us in Munich.
