Information on the Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Ambright GmbH does not sell its products directly to private households, but rather to commercial customers, OEMs, and project partners. However, if electrical and electronic equipment is nevertheless generated as waste from private households within the meaning of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act, the following information applies:

Electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste, especially not with household trash. Owners of end-of-life equipment are required to ensure that it is collected separately from unsorted municipal waste.

The symbol of a crossed-out trash can on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the device in question must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its useful life.

Old appliances from private households can be dropped off at collection points operated by public waste management agencies, such as recycling centers. In addition, certain sellers of electrical and electronic equipment are legally required to accept returns of old appliances free of charge. When purchasing a new electrical or electronic device, an old device of the same type that essentially performs the same functions may be returned free of charge. Small appliances with no external dimension exceeding 25 cm may be returned free of charge to distributors required to accept returns even without a new purchase; returns are limited to three old devices per type of appliance.

If batteries, rechargeable batteries, or light sources can be removed from a waste appliance without damaging it and are not permanently installed in the waste appliance, the end user must remove them before disposing of the waste appliance and dispose of them separately. In the case of Ambright GmbH lighting fixtures, the light sources are generally permanently integrated and cannot be removed separately by the end user.

Special care must be taken when handling lithium-containing batteries and rechargeable batteries, as improper handling can pose fire and safety risks. The terminals of lithium-containing batteries and rechargeable batteries should be protected against short circuits before disposal.

Since Ambright GmbH does not sell its products directly to private households, there are no consumer-related return options available to private households through Ambright GmbH’s brick-and-mortar stores or its own online direct sales channel.

If a used device is capable of storing personal data, end users are responsible for deleting that data before turning in the used device.

By separately collecting waste electrical and electronic equipment, end users contribute to the reuse, recycling, and other forms of recovery of such equipment, as well as to the prevention of negative impacts on the environment and human health. Information regarding the quantitative targets that manufacturers must meet under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act is published annually.
